Class Matters
Primary 1 to 4 and Secondary 1 to 2 classes are 1.5 hours. The duration for Primary 5 to 6 and Secondary 3 to 4 class is 2 hours, in consideration of the prep work required for the PSLE, N and O Levels.
Our classes are capped at 10 to 12 students. This is the max capacity we feel is comfortable enough for class interaction and adequate attention.
Yes, they are all from the same level taking the same subject. The teachers’ brains would find it difficult to alternate between English and Maths within the same lesson!
Unfortunately, we no longer do so due to time and scheduling constraints.
We often bring forward some lessons from May and October and hold them before the exams (end April and end Sep) to have more time for revision. Students can also enjoy a short break afterwards. Parents pay the usual monthly tuition fees during this period, with no extra charges.
Classes are conducted as usual during the school holidays but there are designated breaks after the mid-year exams and during the end-of-year festive period.
Admin Matters
We collect a one-month deposit, which is refundable if one-month notice is given prior to withdrawal. There is also a $35 one-time registration fee for all new sign-ups. Other than that, it will just be the usual monthly fees.
Payment is usually collected at the first lesson of every month, for that particular month’s lessons. If there are five lessons for that month (e.g. five Saturdays in that month), the fees will be pro-rated to include a fifth lesson.
We usually have other class slots for make-up lessons. However, on a case-by-case basis where the child has to miss class for that week, we will rebate the fees for that missed lesson the following month.
In the event of a long-term illness (chicken pox etc.) and exigencies such as family bereavement, we will exercise our discretion to best provide a make-up lesson arrangement or refund.
We will arrange for the lessons to be made up. If that’s not possible, we will prorate up to two weeks of lessons with the proof of travel.
Class Matters
We have one outlet at Jurong West and another at Clementi. Both centres are conveniently located within walking distance to Pioneer and Clementi MRT stations respectively.
Most welcome to do so. You are encouraged to contact us before coming so we can ensure someone is in to show you around and handle your questions.
We might be in class and answering calls might distract us from solving that 5-mark problem sum for your child! If we miss your call, please drop us a text, WhatsApp or email. We promise to get back to you within 24 hours.
COVID-19
We offer hybrid classes, which are conducted simultaneously online and offline. Students online can learn and participate alongside physical classes with materials sent to them ahead of time.
That said, our classes at the centre have the appropriate safety measures in place. They are the preferred option for students to learn in a more conducive setting and get the in-person guidance they might require.
Our preventive measures at both our centres include the following:
1. Tracking temperature and attendance data using our mobile application
2. Social distancing of students during lessons
3. Disinfection of premises by an NEA-approved cleaning agency
4. Contactless payments to minimise the number of visitors
5. Application of self-disinfecting coating on common touchpoints
